Recent Events & Trips

Last academic year we organised a huge variety of trips, visits and events. There were nearly 4,000 individual student experiences, totalling over 45,000 hours of enrichment. These included visits to local universities, museums, theatres and cultural venues, a huge array of sporting events, and trips to London and Alton Towers. Students took part in outdoor activities in the Lake District, rode the rollercoasters at Flamingo Land and learnt how to ski at a dry ski slope. Ferryhill Adventures saw pupils travelling all around the world; in the last couple of years, our pupils took part in free trips to France, Canada, The Seychelles, America (three times), Vietnam, Dubai, Rome, and Iceland, courtesy of the Turing scheme. Volunteers have helped build a school and teach young people in Kenya, and have been skiing in Italy. This year we are looking forward to our fully-funded trip to Borneo, and our African Adventure to Zanzibar.
