Ski Trip 2025

I wanted to take a moment to thank all the students for making this year’s ski trip to Italy such a fantastic experience.

We started out early on Saturday morning at Newcastle Airport with 46 students and 4 members of staff. The students handled the long journey incredibly well and were a real credit to the school throughout – whether on flights, during transfers, or while navigating various airports.

We arrived at the hotel in Livigno, Italy late Friday night and checked in before having a quick evening meal of pizza and chips. The hotel was fantastic with an amazing breakfast each morning and the student’s behaviour at the hotel was excellent, and they were very considerate to other guests, which was greatly appreciated.

On the slopes, the students truly shone. Learning a new skill in a foreign country, away from home, can be challenging, but everyone made impressive progress culminating in a slalom race on the last day, which was very competitive within each group and as a group as a whole. It was also wonderful to see students forming new friendships, trying new activities (sledging, drift Karting) and sampling different cuisines throughout the week.

Despite the high winds and numerous cancelled or rerouted flights earlier on Friday, we were relieved to have landed back at Newcastle airport late on Friday night.
