Our Intent

Our aim at Ferryhill School is to ensure every single pupil receives the best possible standard of education. The broad and rich curriculum has been designed to recognise children’s prior learning and provide first hand learning experiences, which allow our students to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, critical thinkers. Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of skills, knowledge, concepts and values.

We provide enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that school should be a happy time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. Our carefully sequenced curriculum helps students to achieve our mission of ‘Achievement for all’. As a school, we take particular care in ensuring we support all students with their wellbeing. We prepare students as fully as possible to aim for a positive lifestyle beyond school and help learners grow into mature and responsible adults so they can thrive in modern Britain.
