Geography and Biology Students Visit Malham
Mrs Harris, Mrs Dunn and Mrs Preston took a group of Year 10 Geography and Biology students to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales.
We climbed up 412 (We know-students counted each and every one!) steps to reach the top of Malham Cove onto the Limestone Pavement.
We could see for miles. We took photos and did field sketches as part of our data collection and then headed back down the steps.
In Malham Village we looked at how tourism impacts rural honeypot sites. We carried out pedestrian counts and traffic surveys as well as an environmental quality assessment.
Overall it was a brilliant day-doing what Geographers do best… leaving the classroom behind and getting into the wider World!
Now only one question remains, where should we venture to next?
