The Key - funds Performing Arts Theatre Visit

Year 9 Performing Arts class had an amazing experience watching the acclaimed National Theatre production The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

The production is based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and incorporated may aspects of drama and performance currently being studied by our students.

With an all-star cast including Charlie Brook and Trevor Fox, the boundary between the world we take for granted and whatever lies beyond is much more permeable that we expect.

The production contained incredible effects of high intensity lighting, haze and smoke with some incredible pyrotechnics.

The Daily Telegraph reviewed the performance as 5 star ‘Spellbinding. Theatre at its best’ and it was amazing that our students experienced this on opening night at Sunderland Empire Theatre.

Students would like to thank The Key for allowing such an incredible stage 1 project and they can’t wait to start developing stage 2!
