Alton Towers and Thorpe Park Trip

Towards the end of October the Year 11 Business Studies students at Ferryhill School were given the opportunity to visit Alton Towers and Thorpe Park on a residential trip.

We started the trip with an early morning on Sunday and a long drive to Alton Towers where the students were then given time to explore the park and experience the rides and take part in the fright night activities.

We left the park on the Sunday afternoon for a long journey to Staines in Surrey, where we checked in to Staines Travelodge. The students were then able to enjoy an evening meal at one of the local restaurants on the retail park. The staff at the Travelodge were extremely complimentary of our students and said “the students were all extremely polite and considerate of other guests”.

A slightly later start meant the students could enjoy breakfast at one of the local restaurants and then a short 5 minute journey and we were on our way for a full day of fun and adventures at Thorpe Park.

The students had a brilliant time and were able to enjoy the park being much quieter and the wait times for all the major attractions were minimal.

All of the students demonstrated excellent behaviour, they acted with integrity and arrived on time for throughout the trip.

It’s safe to say all of the students and staff had a brilliant time. A big thankyou to Mr Pinkney, Mr Handley and Miss Langdale who accompanied the trip.
