Turing - France

21 students and 3 staff successfully enjoyed a historic visit to France this week.

They visited the Somme on day 1 and it was truly humbling experience for all involved.

Their week was busy, exploring and learning. Students experience a once in a life time opportunity, walking through the trenches, spending time in bunkers and having a moment of solitude in the cemetery.

Students were lucky enough to experience this amazing opportunity thanks to funding secured via Turing by Mrs Johnson.

My favourite part of the France trip was meeting French people. I enjoyed visiting the French schools because I met lots of really great people, and I made some friends in the town where we stayed. I still speak to them and can practise my French. I would recommend this trip as it is very educational. We saw it was like to be in the trenches, and the French scenery was lovely.

My favourite part of the trip was going to visit the underground World War One hospital because it was surreal and very informative. We practised our French skills on the trip. I would recommend this trip to others and I really enjoyed the trip.
