Outward Bound Trip - Ullswater
On April 17th, 47 students from Ferryhill School set off on a journey towards Ullswater in the Lake District where their skills would be tested, and their fears faced.
Upon arrival, students were shown their rooms but there was no time to relax as their first activity was about to start - jog and dip. We all ran through the centre and towards the lake shore to then hurl ourselves from the jetty into the lake which was pretty cold!
After warming up and drying off, the teams met their instructors and went through the plans for the week.
Over the next 4 days the students were pushed to their limits on activities such as gorge walking at Cold Cove, mountain walking up Catstye Cam, raft building, orienteering, canoeing and cliff jumping.
The week was amazing, the weather was great and our students were absolutely fantastic!
A huge well done from Miss Storey, Mr Heppell, Miss Brabben and Mrs Poritt!
