LGBT History Month

We are proudly recognising LGBT+ History Month in school during February. This national movement was introduced to help educate out prejudice. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on the contribution that LGBT+ individuals have made throughout history – many of whom did so at the risk of persecution, and unable to live their lives openly at the time. LGBT+ History Month was the subject in assembly for all students this week; we heard about this year’s theme: Politics in Art; and our Pride Club did a great job researching and sharing details of influential LGBT+ people who inspired them from history, including Shakespeare, Freddie Mercury and Martha P Johnson.
