PASTORAL MANAGER
This role will assist the Heads of Year in managing all aspects of behaviour, inclusion, attendance and support. They will support the whole school ethos.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To deputise for the Heads of Year where required, including supporting with pastoral, behavioural, attendance and inclusion matters in their absence.
To contribute to the overall culture, ethos and values of the school.
To demonstrate high expectations in line with the school’s core values an expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
To be a positive role model to students, parents and colleagues by maintaining a calm, professional and consistent approach to behaviour management and student support.
To be a visible presence around the school, including classrooms, corridors, social spaces and transition times, contributing to the walkaround rota and supporting positive behaviour for learning.
To support students in engaging positively with school life, learning opportunities and enrichment activities, with a clear focus on inclusion and participation.
To assist in raising pupil standards, achievement, self-esteem, aspirations and engagement with learning.
To contribute to the school attendance agenda under the guidance of the
Heads of Year and attendance team, promoting high levels of attendance and punctuality.
To establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, carers, staff, external agencies and the wider community.
To liaise with parents and carers regarding pastoral, attendance and behavioural concerns, escalating higher-level concerns to the Head of Year where appropriate.
